Like a fine wine, Frank Marino has aged gracefully - being full of color and flavor and possessing a great body.
More than 24 years have passed since the legendary La Cage first opened at the Riviera Hotel & Casino in 1985. Skeptic casino owners first booked the show for only a three-month run but with a young 20-year-old, Frank Marino's unbridled determination; this was definitely the start of something big. Today, Marino holds the title of Las Vegas's longest running headliner.
Marino always knew he would become a star, even as a small child, growing up in New York. What he didn't realize was that he'd have to be dressed up in glittering Bob Mackie gowns, and strapped into towering Manolo Blahnik stilettos to do so. And that's before he gets into the wigs and jewels! "The ladder of success was even harder to climb wearing high heels!" Marino wittily quips.
Never at a loss for words, Marino is an accomplished author, news commentator, columnist, spokesperson, and America's favorite male actress. His first book, His Majesty, the Queen, was an immediate bestseller and one of Marino's biggest projects, the film Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, was his big screen debut, where he can be seen co-starring alongside Sandra Bullock.
Even more dear to his heart, is that, the Mayor of Las Vegas proclaimed February 1st, to be "Frank Marino Day." Now the name Frank Marino is forever immortalized with a star along the Las Vegas Walk of Fame, he has a key to the city, and a street bearing his name.
It's no accident that the expression is show "business," because Marino is definitely a savvy businessperson; his last contract was a 10 year, multi-million dollar deal, one of the longest in Las Vegas history. In other words, Marino has earned his title as the undisputed "Queen of the Strip".
It is said that when tourists visit Las Vegas, there are three things they come for; gambling, a trip to Hoover Dam, and a chance to see Frank Marino performing in all of his glory on a Las Vegas stage.
Marino can currently be seen as the special guest star of the hit play Tony and Tina's Wedding. Performing nightly at the Planet Hollywood Hotel, dark Sundays.
Marino has also begun work on his new Las Vegas production show entitled "Diva Las Vegas" which will be a very MTV style production featuring celebrity female impersonations of stars like Rhianna, Britney Spears, and the Pussycat Dolls.
